The Cherokee County School District recognizes employees’ important service to the community with a special recognition program.

The third annual CCSD Milestones Service Awards program celebrates CCSD employees’ unmatched dedication to serving students. The program idea was proposed by a CCSD teacher and is supported through funding from the Cherokee County Educational Foundation.  Congratulations to our honorees and thank you for your service, thank you to CCEF for its sponsorship, and thank you to our School Board for its investment in our employees!

To begin the program in 2023, every one of CCSD’s employees received a branded CCSD lanyard, and the district continues to distribute these to new employees when they receive their employee ID badge.  All employees with more than 10 years of service as of 2023 received a pin honoring their service milestone achievement: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35 years.

At the start of each school year, employees who reach one of these milestones for the first time receive a new pin.  Among the 427 new pins distributed this school year are eight new honorees for at least 30 years of service and five new honorees for at least 35 years!  The school district also now has four employees who have reached or exceeded 40 years of service -- congratulations and thank you to Sandra Biddy of Transportation, Carla Cornelison of Support Services, Brenda Meadows of Little River ES, and Dorothy "Jan" Warren of Transportation.

Employees who reached each of these service milestone levels are listed here.
